A week ago President Donald Trump canceled the extended Secret Service protection plan Joe Biden had created for his vice president, Kamala Harris.
California police from Los Angeles then were detailed to provide security for the millionaire politician at her luxury Brentwood home.
Now, amid raging protests from taxpayers, that's been canceled, too.
A report at Legal Insurrection explained the Los Angeles Police Department dropped its special security detail for Harris, and that ended "days of controversy over pulling officers from crime suppression duties to guard her Brentwood home."
Ordinarily, her Secret Service protection would have ended in July, but Biden created a special accommodation for her, extending it.
Trump, however, canceled that carve-out from the law for her.
Then LAPD officers were sent to protect her, triggering outrage among California taxpayers on the hook for her privileges.
The report said, "The move came after mounting criticism from within the ranks. The Los Angeles Police Protective League, which represents rank-and-file officers, blasted the use of city resources."
Its statement said, "Pulling police officers from protecting everyday Angelenos to protect a failed presidential candidate who also happens to be a multi-millionaire … and who can easily afford to pay for her own security, is nuts."
The statement continued, "Mayor Karen Bass should tell Governor Newsom that if he wants to curry favor with Ms. Harris and her donor base, then he should open up his own wallet because LA taxpayers should not be footing the bill for this ridiculousness."
WND had reported that Harris is just about to launch a self- and book-promoting tour.
