President Donald Trump escalated his criticism of California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) on Sunday morning, calling them "incompetent" after he had to send the National Guard in to quell riots in Bass's jurisdiction.
"Great job by the National Guard in Los Angeles after two days of violence, clashes and unrest," Trump wrote on TruthSocial. "We have an incompetent Governor (Newscum) and Mayor (Bass) who were, as usual (just look at how they handled the fires, and now their VERY SLOW PERMITTING disaster. Federal permitting is complete!), unable to to handle the task. These Radical Left protests, by instigators and often paid troublemakers, will NOT BE TOLERATED. Also, from now on, MASKS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to be worn at protests. What do these people have to hide, and why??? Again, thank you to the National Guard for a job well done!"
Rioters resorted to violence as they protested Immigration and Customs Enforcement for taking more than 100 illegal immigrants into custody last week.
Bass tacitly encouraged the violence, and Newsom did nothing to stop it.
Not only did the rioters set fires and vandalize private property, but they also threw rocks and fireworks at law enforcement when they tried to de-escalate the situation.
They spray-painted “F–K ICE” and “KILL ICE” on public property. Some wore masks so they couldn't be identified, which led Trump to object.
Trump called out 2,000 members of the National Guard to stop the riots after local and state police were overrun.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said on X that the rioting would not deter ICE from doing its job.
She also warned rioters that they would be prosecuted for their crimes, especially if they harmed any member of law enforcement.
A message to the LA rioters: you will not stop us or slow us down. @ICEgov will continue to enforce the law.
And if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

It's only fair that the DOJ would prosecute these rioters fully after how the January 6 protesters were treated. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
The left is despicable when it riots and is going way beyond anything that happened on January 6.
L.A. is on fire because a bunch of lefties don't want criminal illegal immigrants deported.
Good for Trump and Noem for standing up for what's right and for law and order.
